The Lamborghini Egoista (which translate as the Lamborghini ‘Selfish’) gets its name because it is designed as a single seater, purely for the pleasure of the driver. Designed by Walter De Silva, the Egoista sports dramatic styling that is said to be inspired by the Apache helicopter (and isn’t entirely successful – the Apache looks better) and extensively uses carbon fibre with a canopy that can be removed for real single-seat fresh air thrills. Power comes from the Gallardo’s 5.2 litre V10, although so far all Lamborghini has done is release a single photo of the Egoista (above), so we don’t yet know whether the Egoista will be a one-off special like the Aventador J, a short run at silly prices like the Veneno or just a concept that will never see the light of day again.

On one level, the Saab 9-X Air is a re-work of the Geneva show’s 9-X BioHybrid with its roof chopped off. But get up close and you’ll find it’s one hell of a smart hatchet job.
We admire the packaging. If you’ve ever had a soft-top you’ll know that most have very wide fabric C-pillars that impede vision and coupled with integrated rear glass windows can be tricky to fold away.
The Audi TT-RS Coupe and Roadster – Official Audi images this time
First the teaser images of the TT-RS from Audi themselves, then some moody black and whites which seemed to be a leak, and now the official Audi images that seem to indicate that the moody B&Ws were in fact poor scans of these. Oh well, the only thing we’ve wasted is a finger on each hand bashing this out for your delight. So here they are – images of the Audi TT-RS – due to launch in just a week or so’s time at Geneva 2009.
